The Axis Syllabus

the Axis Syllabus

 What is the Axis Syllabus?

The Axis Syllabus is a compendium or encyclopedia of information relevant to the training, preparation, and performance of the moving human body.  The Axis Syllabus refers to physics, anatomy, and relevant scientific data on flexibility, strength, alignment, injuries, and movement practices. Teachers of the Axis Syllabus use these references to inform movement choices to explore the what, where, and how of efficiency and safe risk-taking, and common-sense applications of principles that apply to every-life activities as well, such as climbing, horseback riding, construction work, sports, dance, running, etc.  Those that want to be involved in the Axis Syllabus form an international community through the ASRM (The Axis Syllabus Research Meshwork), a dynamic and interactive forum of teachers, researchers, and students. https://www.axissyllabusforum.org/

What can occur when you study the Axis Syllabus?

· Optimize your movement with insights from physics, anatomy

and biomechanics

· Empower flow states in sports, dance and everyday life

· Increase agility, flexibility, strength, and balance

· Do the things you love with more ease

· Reduce joint pain

· Age with vitality

What happens in class?

We start with a brief anatomy demo, learn, and practice new functional movement patterns. Together we will research flexibility, strength, alignment, anatomical attributes, and ways of moving that are safe and energy-conservative. We  wrap it up with
the pure joy of movement and dance.
